REORG goes into ALLOCATION RECOVERY
Has one of your disks gone?
I went to see the SMS people. One of them had 'deleted' a disk of ours
that was named in our STOGROUP definition. We changed the STOGROUP def to *
(any SMS volume) as we thought that was the prob. No, Derek showed
me using TSO LISTCAT ENTRY(....) that the MVS catalog lists not
only every extent, but also candidate volumes (where there has
been an extent in the past). DEV005 of fond memory was one of
these entries. Thus it was MVS was playing games, not DB2, and the
STOGROUP wasn't involved. Once we had done the IDCAMS command
ALTER ENTRY(...) REMOVEVOLUMES(DEV005)
the BMC Reorg restarted without any trouble.
