Tracking IT Exceptions
There is in EPDM what looks like a useful capability to define,
detect, and record exception conditions, putting the records in
one central table DRL.EXCEPTION_T. This is done by creating
UPDATEs which select rows showing the condition, and copy the
relevant data to EXCEPTION_T. See DEFS(DRLUMVEX) for an example.
There are other Tivoli-supplied exceptions which will start firing
when the relevant component gets installed.
Pretty easy to invent and implement your own ideas.
Remember to put the Exceptions report on the responsible persons desk (or nothing gets fixed!)
